Getting started
How do I add Ihsan to my Slack workspace?
Once your access is approved you receive an “Add to Slack” link. A workspace admin opens it, reviews the permissions and approves. Ihsan then appears in Slack like any new colleague.
How do I talk to Ihsan?
Mention @Ihsan in any channel it has been invited to, or send it a direct message. It replies in the thread.
We don’t use Slack. Can we still use Ihsan?
Yes. The Ihsan chat console runs in any browser. Your people sign in, ask questions, pull data and get work done there, exactly as they would in Slack.
How do I give Ihsan something to read?
Admins add knowledge sources in the Ihsan console, for example a Slack channel or a document collection. Start with one small source, check the answers, then add more.
How long does reading a source take?
Small sources take seconds. Large channels with hundreds of threads take a few minutes. The console shows when a source has been read to the end.
When something looks wrong
Ihsan didn’t answer my message.
Check that Ihsan has been invited to the channel. In a channel it answers only when mentioned. If it still stays silent, email support with the channel name and the time of your message.
A knowledge source shows as failed.
Ihsan retries failed sources on its own. If a source stays failed for more than a day, email support with the name of the source.
Ihsan gave a wrong or outdated answer.
Look at the source it pointed to. If the source itself is outdated, update or remove it and Ihsan will follow. If Ihsan misread a correct source, send us the question and the answer so we can look into it.
Ihsan said it couldn’t find something I know exists.
Most often the document lives somewhere Ihsan hasn’t been connected to yet. Ask your admin to add that source.

Who can see Ihsan’s answers?
An answer in a channel is visible to that channel. An answer in a direct message is visible only to you.
How do I remove Ihsan?
A workspace admin can remove the Ihsan app from Slack at any time. Ihsan stops receiving messages immediately.
How do I get my company’s data deleted?
Email privacy@ihsanone.com from an admin’s address. We delete your workspace’s stored knowledge and confirm when it is done. See the privacy policy for detail.
